Work Package 2

The WP2 ("Contributing to international mutual understanding on cotton production")

is in line with and complements the initiative launched by EU after the WTO Ministerial Meeting in Cancùn

-where four African countries -Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali and Chad, or C-4,- protested against the Cotton Policies of a few countries or regions, including EU-

In addition to the assistance yet proposed by the European Cotton Initiative, the WP2 activities target at setting up a process of exchanges between cotton stakeholders of various countries,

hence fulfilling a gap regarding the international interaction between stakeholders concerned about the same commodity, notably between cotton sector stakeholders in Europe and Africa.
