The national cotton company has just been split into four subsidiaries which should enjoy autonomy
The creation of subsidiaries is the stage before the privatization of the Malian cotton sector. Farmers in cotton areas are pessimistic about the fate of the prvatisation. They call upon the President of their country to move back from the privatization and implement instead a vigourous restructuring of the cotton company.
