Giving access to various sources and leaving each one make his/her own mind
We aim at reporting the interactions between stakeholders about topics related to cotton policies in the wide sense. We are doing so through what come out newspapers and we are not taking position. We establish links with the original sources, which are in various languages, and we try to summarize as objectively as possible the contents of the articles (this is not an easy task). Besides, we try to inform about articles from both positive or negative perspective.
The recent price evolution is getting disconnected more and more from market fundamentals. No one seems to know what to do, since the future market nevertheless needs intervention from specs.
For those who can benefit, rice production comes out more profitable, and more secure as well since the privatization process of the cotton sector pushes farmers to wonder who will buy their cotton output.
The creation of subsidiaries is the stage before the privatization of the Malian cotton sector. Farmers in cotton areas are pessimistic about the fate of the prvatisation. They call upon the President of their country to move back from the privatization and implement instead a vigourous restructuring of the cotton company.
A company has been set up from an individual initiative to promote the local processing of raw materials, such as cotton. An yearly event permits to exhibit the artistic creations of Malian talented youth.

The installation of spring crops is threatned by the lack of water resulting from dramatic winter drought
The Ministries of Finance and of water resources have budgeted $ 44 millions to improve farm irrigation and water conservancy facilities in the Northern provinces of China. This is part of the program of agricultural subsidies earmarked at Yuan 75.6 Billions (abour € 8 Billions).
