The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is participating in numerous Research and Technological Development Projects. The Department of Agricultural Economics, in particular, carries out projects in various research areas as well as various EU projects. Also it undertook the training of scientists from Balkan, Central and Eastern European countries while issues, related to the development of these countries, are being areas of extensive research from the scientific staff of the department. This Department is deeply involved in the European Association of Agricultural Economists, through organization of international conferences on specific issues (Agro-food Small and Medium Enterprises; Problems and Prospects of Balkan Agriculture; Marketing and Food Supply), this is a factor for large dissemination of the Project's outputs to the European scientific community.
