Giving access to various sources and leaving each one make his/her own mind
We aim at reporting the interactions between stakeholders about topics related to cotton policies in the wide sense. We are doing so through what come out newspapers and we are not taking position. We establish links with the original sources, which are in various languages, and we try to summarize as objectively as possible the contents of the articles (this is not an easy task). Besides, we try to inform about articles from both positive or negative perspective.
Cotton production under irrigation is expected as irrigation project evolves on schedule
Angola soon will embark cotton production, through which jobs and improved living are expected.

Critical questions on the compensation money to the negative impacts of the FTA with USA
The implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with the USA will permit the importation of subsidized products at the expense of national producers. Compensation money was scheduled, but the figure retained now is questioned while the government still is not clear on the modalities of compensation payment. Not all producers will benefit and there would not necessarily cash payment.

Farmers marching to force government complying with it commitment
Recent floods have seriously damaged crops, in particular cotton. Farmers have marched to recall their government they have not received all the aid promised by their government.

An illustration of how the difficulties in textile industry reflect to farmers
Farmers are complaining that traders have stopped purchasing their cotton, hence having no cash to engage their wheat cropping while some fertilizers also are missing. Farmers are suffering from the bad shape of the national textile industry which reduces its demand to ginneries. This bad time adds to low production severely hurt by mealy bug infestations.

Coton company shares analysis of the production decline with sector stakeholders
Not even the production has kept on declining, but the yield has been the lowest ever recorded for decades. Although some withdrawal from cotton producers has been observed, confidence for production rebound still persists. Awards for quality production were granted to cotton individual producers and groups.
