Giving access to various sources and leaving each one make his/her own mind
We aim at reporting the interactions between stakeholders about topics related to cotton policies in the wide sense. We are doing so through what come out newspapers and we are not taking position. We establish links with the original sources, which are in various languages, and we try to summarize as objectively as possible the contents of the articles (this is not an easy task). Besides, we try to inform about articles from both positive or negative perspective.
Subsidies are announced to help farming families get house appliances
These subsidies are devoted to reduce the gap of the welfare standard at the expense of the farming families. They will firstly help getting color TV sets, refrigerators and mobile phones. A second stage is announced to support the purchase of washing machines and air conditioners.

More subsidies are upon being decided…
…although debate persist about the effectiveness of this measure. The increase of subsidies is destined to small scale farmers.

Measures to adapt to the cotton crisis remain insufficient, State’s intervention is called upon
Among the many answers given by the CEO of the cotton company, it comes out that, in spite of the efforts to adapt to the unfavourable cotton context, it is believed that the State must intervene to provide price support.

Delay in payment has led syndicate of transporters to claim for money before resuming the transport operation
Discussions were difficult and confused but a deal was eventually achieved which permits to resume the transportation of Malian cotton bales via Côte d’Ivoire.

High increase in the selling price of the cotton seeds makes stockbreeders angry
Cotton seeds are important in cattle feeding. Stockbreeders, most of them also are cotton growers complain against the high price of these seeds at the merchants’ level, demonstrating abuse and speculation. A protest marching is announced.
