Giving access to various sources and leaving each one make his/her own mind
We aim at reporting the interactions between stakeholders about topics related to cotton policies in the wide sense. We are doing so through what come out newspapers and we are not taking position. We establish links with the original sources, which are in various languages, and we try to summarize as objectively as possible the contents of the articles (this is not an easy task). Besides, we try to inform about articles from both positive or negative perspective.
The call for the boycott of Uzbekistan's cotton shows first signs of success
Several important distrbution chains In United Kingdom are positively responding to the boycott call launched by a group of Uzbekistan dissidents and activists. The position of ICAC arguing the boycott call also is reported.

Not all farmers are benefitting from recent over-average rains, irrigation licensing in favor of cotton growrs is debated
Complains have raised against the diversion of water towards large cotton properties, upstream of dams. In spite of the welcome rains, cotton production prospects remain morose.

Textile mills are suffering because of high cotton price while yarn price has fallen
The Textile industry asks for governmental actions. It is facing recession because it cannot afford the current high price of cotton while the selling price of yarn has decreased as compared to last year. The Government has yet partially responded by changing the application of a few taxes, notably at the exportation.

Bt cotton profitability derives from higher yield and less use of insecticides, according to a new study sponsored by Monsanto
The study has covered a sample of 180 cotton growers and compared hybrid Bt-cotton with conventional non-hybrid cotton. The study also reveals high percentage of growers victims of spurious seeds.
